Job Summary:

The Loading/Unloading Worker is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading goods from trucks, containers, and other vehicles. The worker ensures that goods are securely placed on transportation vehicles or removed from them, using manual labor or equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth operations in the supply chain, ensuring products are delivered and stored without damage or delay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading Trucks/Containers:

  • Load goods and materials onto trucks, trailers, or containers.
  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools to move heavy items.
  • Ensure the proper organization and secure placement of cargo to prevent damage during transport.
  • Follow safety procedures while loading to avoid accidents and injuries.

• Unloading Trucks/Containers:

  • Unload goods from trucks, trailers, or containers using manual labor or machinery.
  • Inspect products for damage or discrepancies during the unloading process.
  • Sort, organize, and store products according to the established system.

• Inventory Management:

  • Verify the number and condition of items being loaded/unloaded.
  • Update inventory records to reflect the movement of goods.
  • Report any missing or damaged items to the supervisor immediately.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to company safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety boots, and reflective vests.
  • Follow proper lifting techniques and equipment usage to prevent injuries.
