Responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of the printing press, color approval and performance of preventive maintenance.

· Review all finished work as well as verifying product coming off press.

· Ensure the job jacket is accurate and complete with all samples and other job requirements.

· Comply with all Safety and Company policies.

· Provide direction to the press crew co-workers for a successful production run.

· Check the press sheet out against the layout and proofs to ensure proper, color and content during the make-ready process and throughout the run.

· Maintains proper ink levels in the ink fountains to ensure constant color is maintained.

· Maximizes speed and quality.

Administrative and safety

· Reads the job jacket and has complete understanding of the job specifications.

· Keeps equipment, press, and work area clean and orderly.

· Follows company safety policy and procedures.

· Brings relevant issues affecting service to the attention of management in a timely fashion.

· Notifies management of any technical issues which may cause delays or service requests so that they may contact the vendor for a service call.

· Responsible for relaying any information to the next press helper.
