Job Summary:
The Line Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the production line in a cosmetics manufacturing facility. This includes managing staff, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. The Line Lead ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives on the production line.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead a team of operators, technicians, and other line workers to ensure efficient operation and meeting of production targets.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and development for production staff.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Address and resolve any operational or personnel issues on the line.
Production Oversight:
- Ensure all production processes are carried out according to established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety guidelines.
- Monitor production output and adjust processes to optimize efficiency and meet production quotas.
- Conduct line changeovers and ensure proper setup for new products.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks on products, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP).
- Identify and address any quality issues or defects in finished goods.
- Ensure that production meets the required cosmetic industry standards and specifications.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce a safe working environment by following health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure that all team members wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
- Assist with audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Inventory & Resource Management:
- Manage the use of raw materials and packaging, ensuring inventory levels meet production demands.
- Report any supply shortages or production delays to the Production Manager.
- Ensure that machinery, equipment, and tools are maintained and operating effectively.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for any production issues or failures.
- Provide feedback to management regarding performance metrics and production bottlenecks.
