Job Title: Operator 

Location: Coal City, IL

Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:00am-2:00pm

Job Description:

As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating automated machinery to place caps, locate tubes, and attach spouts to aerosol cans, in line with work orders. You will also ensure the quality of the products through inspection, address minor equipment issues, and assist in packing the completed product. A key aspect of the role is the ability to work collaboratively, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate automated capping and tubing machines to place caps and locate tubes on aerosol cans as specified in the work order.
• Operate automated spouter equipment to attach spouts onto products accurately.
• Perform minor adjustments to equipment to ensure proper placement of caps, tubes, and spouts.
• Manually place caps, tips, and spouts on aerosol cans, either individually or in a series, to complete products as per specifications.
• Troubleshoot and clear minor jams in equipment to maintain production flow.
• Notify shift lead or maintenance team of any major issues or equipment malfunctions that require attention.
• Inspect components and completed products to ensure quality standards and identify any damage or defects.
• Pack completed aerosol products into cartons efficiently and accurately.
• Remove and replace defective labels from cans for re-labeling.
• Manually staple corrugated cartons as required to secure products for shipping.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient production process.
• Work from production line sheets, work orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Ability to operate automated machinery, with a focus on capping, tubing, and spouting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or quality issues.
• Comfortable performing manual tasks such as placing caps and labels, and stapling cartons.
• Ability to perform minor adjustments on equipment to maintain production flow.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Team player with the ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
• Basic understanding of production line sheets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
