- Pay Rate: $21 per hour
- Duration: Approx. 10-11 weeks
- Current Workforce: 1 tech/associate (with a need to add another as soon as one is available)
- Shift: 7am – 3pm
- PPE Requirements:
- Steel-toed shoes required.
- High-visibility safety vests will be provided by QLS.
Position Overview: Quality Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring that products produced or sold meet the quality standards and expectations set by the customer. They are responsible for inspecting materials, reporting results, and completing various tasks based on customer needs. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage inspections and projects efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspection: Inspect products using industry-standard methods, such as comparing materials to established standards, measuring features, and examining functionality.
- Reporting: Record inspection results by completing reports that summarize parts as good, repaired, or rejected, and input data into the designated tracking system (Dot).
- Follow Standards: Adhere to set standards and workflows for the inspection process to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Customer/Supervisor Collaboration: Work with customers or supervisors to understand work instructions and specific requirements for the inspections.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with other team members and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of tasks.
- Tool and Equipment Management: Oversee on-site tools and equipment necessary for inspections, ensuring they are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Compliance: Follow all work site rules, guidelines, and safety standards.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in additional projects based on customer needs, ensuring quality requirements are met.
- Support Organizational Goals: Perform any other duties as necessary to support the company's vision, mission, and values.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication is essential for effectively conveying inspection results and collaborating with the team.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is required to consistently identify errors and discrepancies across thousands of inspections.
- Smart Device Literacy: Ability to effectively use smart devices (cell phones, tablets) for tracking and reporting.
- Project Tracking System (Dot): Familiarity with the Dot tracking system for recording inspection data and results.
- Inspection Decision-Making: Strong ability to identify acceptable and unacceptable features, with solid decision-making skills in performing audits.
- Basic Measuring Devices: Ability to properly use basic measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to measure dimensions and ensure compliance with standards.
- Engineering Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is preferred to assist in understanding product specifications.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- Independence: Ability to work independently, taking initiative and completing tasks without constant supervision.
- Travel: Ability to travel to multiple customer facilities as required.
