Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Reel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting reels used in fishing. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that reels are fully functional to support operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reel Maintenance & Repair:

   • Inspect, clean, and maintain reels to ensure optimal functionality.
   • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in reels.
   • Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
   • Perform regular preventative maintenance on reels to extend lifespan and minimize downtime.

2. Testing & Troubleshooting:

   • Test repaired reels to ensure they are operating within proper specifications.
   • Diagnose mechanical or electrical issues, utilizing both technical manuals and hands-on problem-solving.
   • Record detailed reports of repair work, including parts used and the procedures followed.

3. Inventory & Parts Management:

   • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, ensuring that commonly needed items are in stock.
   • Order replacement parts as needed and manage stock levels to avoid delays in repair work.

4. Customer Support & Collaboration:

   • Provide technical support to customers, answering questions or providing guidance on reel operation and care.
   • Collaborate with other team members to ensure project timelines and operational needs are met.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

   • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of service history for all reels.
   • Prepare reports detailing maintenance schedules, costs, and operational status.

6. Safety & Compliance:

   • Adhere to company safety protocols and guidelines.
   • Maintain a clean, organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Proven experience as a Reel Technician or similar mechanical/electrical role.
• Familiarity with different types of fishing reels 
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy reels (up to 50 lbs or more).
• Comfortable working in various physical environments, including indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
