Material Handler
Job Summary As a Material Handling Associate, your primary role is to ensure that the materials required for the production process are properly handled, stored, and transported. Your specific duties may include: Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receiving and Inspecting Materials: You will be responsible for receiving and inspecting all materials that arrive at the plant, ensuring that they meet quality and safety standards. You will also be responsible for recording any discrepancies and reporting them to the appropriate personnel. Storing Materials: You will be responsible for storing materials in the appropriate locations, taking into account their specific storage requirements such as temperature, humidity, and light. You will also ensure that all materials are labeled correctly and organized for easy retrieval. Preparing Materials for Production: You will be responsible for preparing materials for the production process, such as measuring and weighing ingredients, assembling packaging materials, and ensuring that all materials are readily available for production. Transporting Materials: You will be responsible for transporting materials from storage locations to production areas, ensuring that they are delivered on time and in the correct quantities. You will use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies to move materials safely. Maintaining Inventory: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of all materials in the plant, including tracking the use and movement of materials throughout the facility. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for additional materials as needed. Following Safety Protocols: You will be required to follow all safety protocols in the facility, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety guidelines when operating equipment. Communicating with Other Departments: You will be required to communicate effectively with other departments, such as production and quality control, to ensure that materials are available when needed and that any issues are resolved quickly.
