**Shift/Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM  

**Pay Rate:** $18.00/hr

### **Job Description:**

The **Forklift Operator** is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This position is essential for maintaining smooth operations in the warehouse or distribution center while ensuring accurate handling of materials and adherence to safety standards.

### **Key Responsibilities:**

- **Forklift Operation**: Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to transport products and materials within the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and stacking items according to storage plans.

- **Material Handling**: Move raw materials, finished goods, and supplies between different areas of the warehouse, ensuring that products are stored in appropriate locations to maximize space and ensure safety.

- **Inventory Management**: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by properly storing and documenting the movement of materials. Perform periodic inventory checks to ensure stock accuracy.

- **Loading and Unloading**: Load and unload shipments, ensuring that products are handled with care to prevent damage. Verify shipments against packing lists and orders for accuracy.

- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations at all times. Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any defects or maintenance needs.

- **Warehouse Organization**: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by keeping the warehouse and forklift storage areas tidy and removing hazards to ensure a safe working environment.

- **Team Collaboration**: Work effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations. Communicate any issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly.

- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of shipments, materials, and forklift operations. Complete required documentation such as reports on movements, safety checks, and inventory counts.

- **Support Other Roles**: Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed, including material handling, packaging, and order picking.

 **Qualifications & Skills:**

- **Experience**: Previous forklift operation experience is preferred, ideally in a warehouse or industrial setting.

- **Forklift Certification**: Valid forklift certification required (training may be provided if necessary).

- **Attention to Detail**: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in material handling, inventory tracking, and shipment preparation.

- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to [weight] lbs. regularly. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

- **Safety Awareness**: Strong commitment to following safety protocols and procedures.

- **Teamwork & Communication**: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
