This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitation and maintaining production room cleanliness for a food manufacturing site throughout the shift. This position is also responsible for food safety procedures to maintain a quality and safe product. Reports to FSQA Manager / Lead Sanitation Technician. Responsible for professionally representing the Quality Assurance Department and upholding its standards throughout facility at all times.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


GMP and SQF Oversight:


Perform daily cleaning operations for production room and its equipment.

Must be knowledgeable with and follow all SSOP’s related to Sanitation of Repack Room and its equipment.

Must have solid understanding of the HACCP principles as it relates to sanitation’s impact and methods preventing cross-contamination, foodborne illnesses, etc.

Responsible for chemical safety and security, chemical handling, chemical dilution/preparation, proper storage, proper use, et al.

Disassemble, clean, sanitize and reassemble production equipment along with cleaning and sanitizing the production work areas with the use of pressure sprayers, foamers, and other sanitation equipment.

Participates in all A-Cleans, Product Change Overs (when applicable), and End of Shift sanitation.

Perform proper cleaning and sanitizing practices.

Operate and maintain clean floor scrubber.

Handle and discard trash, operate cardboard baler, discard carboard bales and bad pallets.

Assist in Clean Out of Place (COP) procedures.

Complete the proper paperwork required of the position.

Be a team member and a leader of Food Safety Culture

Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained to maintain SQF Food Safety Code certification.

Maintain forklift certification and knowledge to perform all tasks required of room and trash disposal.

Report to FSQA/Management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

Complete sanitation tasks as assigned by Lead Sanitation Technician and/or FSQA Manager.

Performs other duties as assigned.
