JOB TITLE: Event Planning Instructor

JOB STATUS: Part Time and Hourly

COMPENSATION: $18.50-$22 .00 per hour

POSITION REPORTS TO: Community Integration Training Program Manager

SCHEDULE: 8:30 am - 2:30 pm, paid Half hour lunch Monday to Friday, with additional hours as needed arise, overtime must be pre-approved by the direct manager.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. The following are the necessary duties to be performed:

? Provide training and instruction in event planning, including budgeting, venue selection, vendor management, marketing, and promotion of the event.

? Responsible for reaching out to vendors for the assigned event and ensuring the setup is done in a timely manner and food is ordered and is within the assigned budget.

? Provide training and instruction in event planning fundamentals specific to fun events and parties, including theme development, decor, entertainment, and interactive activities.

? Ensure that all training materials, facilities, and activities are accessible to participants with disabilities, making necessary accommodations as needed to promote inclusivity.

? Coordinate all event planning with the Event Committee team from decorations, food set up, collect payments for the event and updating the payment spreadsheet, and flyer distribution and sharing the event information with consumers, care providers and family members.

? Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to participants once employed in event planning positions, helping them navigate job responsibilities, challenges, and professional development opportunities.

? Schedule all events on the calendar and share with the Event Committee Team.

? Monitor participants' progress, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns that arise in the workplace with the consumer's case manager.

? Maintain accurate records of participant progress, including assessments, training activities, employment outcomes, and support services provided.

? Responsible for the immediate reporting of any injury/incident involving consumers or self.

? Responsible for accurately recording consumer goal progress (case notes) for reporting to regulatory agencies.

? Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position, and be punctual.

? Facilitate monthly scheduled safety meetings and evacuation drills with consumers.

? Accurately document information needed for billing purposes.

? Responsible for submitting required CARF paperwork, including vehicle inspection checklist, to case managers at the end of the month.

? Stay informed about best practices in event planning, disability rights, and employment support services through ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and networking.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in event planning, job coaching, vocational rehabilitation, or disability services. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for advocating for the rights and opportunities of individuals with disabilities. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to be a self-starter, while working as an effective team player.

Proficient in reading, writing and math skills; proficient in office software’s, Google applications, and Case Magic software programs. Excellent communication, grammar and interpersonal skills. Valid California driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurance companies. CPR and First Aid certificate required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Strong knowledge of event planning principles, industry trends, and best practices, particularly related to fun events and parties. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their career goals.

Represent the company in a professional manner to top management and public; speak effectively before groups. Skilled in problem solving matters that may arise and create solutions; basic mathematical skills and operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception; hand and finger dexterity. Duties and responsibilities performed normally do require physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, squatting, and carrying, pushing, pulling and occasional lifting of material up to 30 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is typical of a factory; the noise level varies moderate to high, and the work areas are not climate controlled. You’ll encounter moving mechanical parts and machine vibrations; powered equipment; compressed air; propane powered forklift; pallets and shelving of material. Works either indoor, outdoor or warehouse environment; is exposed to various chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, heat, cold, wind and seasonal changes in climate. Works well under pressure of deadlines.
