Accounting Clerk

Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $24.00 an hour.
Job Duties:
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
• Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
• Pre bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
• Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database.
• Perform monthly cycle counts and reconcile differences.
• Prepare credit payments and gather receipts.
• Calculate and report sales tax.
• Provide assistance and support toto company personnel.
• Research, track and retore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Requirements:
• EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting is
preferred or equivalent experience. Technical skills in account reconciliation, learning
and applying general accounting principles and theory to practice.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: College level English reading, writing and verbal communication
competency essential. Ability to read, comprehends, and composes instructions,
correspondence, and memos in English. Spanish language a plus.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to creatively apply experience, common sense, and a
strategic and economical business perspective to a variety of situations, processes and
people. Ability to manage several projects concurrently. Ability to perform the essential
duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy and work independently and
professionally and in a team environment.
• COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess a
working knowledge and command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks and Great Plains. Must be familiar with accounting software and spreadsheet functions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often
required to sit for longer periods of time than normal; use hands to handle tools or
controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; and talk and hear. The
employee must be able to move up to 20 pounds.
• WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is an office environment and includes daily
involvement with plant operations. There is time worked beyond business hours due to
seasonal fluctuations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals
