Job Summary:

The Tire Repairer is responsible for diagnosing and repairing tires for various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles. This role involves inspecting, mounting, balancing, and repairing tires to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety. The Tire Repairer must have a strong understanding of tire mechanics, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tire Inspection and Diagnosis:

    • Inspect tires for damage, wear, and alignment issues.
    • Diagnose problems such as punctures, leaks, and uneven wear.
    • Recommend appropriate repairs or replacements based on inspection results.
  2. Tire Repair and Replacement:

    • Remove damaged tires from vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
    • Repair punctures and other minor damages using approved methods and materials.
    • Mount and dismount tires on wheels using manual or automated equipment.
    • Balance tires to ensure smooth and stable vehicle operation.
  3. Customer Service:

    • Provide clear explanations of tire issues and repair options to customers.
    • Offer professional advice on tire maintenance and care to prolong tire life.
    • Address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction with the repair service.
  4. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Maintain and calibrate tire repair and mounting equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Clean and organize the work area, including tools and equipment.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of injury.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Adhere to company policies and industry standards related to tire repair and service.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Record details of repairs and replacements performed, including parts used and labor time.
    • Provide accurate and timely documentation of work completed for billing and inventory purposes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in tire repair is a plus.
  • Proven experience in tire repair and maintenance, including knowledge of tire types and repair techniques.
  • Ability to use tire repair tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy tires and equipment.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling are required.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential for precise repairs.

Work Environment:

  • The role is typically performed in a workshop or service area with exposure to noise, dust, and vehicle fumes.
  • Protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection may be required.
