Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Ensure the organization's compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and potential environmental impacts.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety protocols and environmental practices.
- Keep employees informed about health and safety regulations and best practices.
Incident Investigation:
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents and accidents.
- Analyze root causes and recommend preventive measures.
Environmental Impact Management:
- Monitor and manage environmental aspects, such as waste disposal and emissions.
- Implement strategies to reduce the organization's environmental footprint.
Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
Safety Data Analysis:
- Collect and analyze safety data and environmental performance metrics.
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational health and safety standards.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CHMM, CSP) are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
$55.00 hourly
