Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Production Lead is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees.
Accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and
within all quality parameters. Receive product and ensure inventory is accurate as well as ensure that
the warehouse is maintained organized. Verify that all customer orders are complete and ready to be
delivered.

Shift: 3rd 8:30PM-4:30AM ( Mon- Friday ) 


RESPONSIBILITIES
 Supervise the Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize
to meet deadline changes and updates.
 Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees
 Ensure accuracy of employee timecards and submit to work agencies
 Print finished product labels with corresponding expiration dates and weight information
 Enforce all safety and processing procedures
 Enable effective communication between management, quality control, and production
department
 Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with Quality Control Standards and safety
requirements
 Ensure Company policies & procedures are followed
 Enter production data or recipes regularly in SYSPRO system
 Ensure the completion of all duties and production orders with a minimum of waste and abuse
to equipment
 Perform the functions of the Production Manager and or the Quality Control Technician in their
absence
 Coordinate and manage all inventory supplies and products to ensure minimum waste and
spoilage
 Ensure that goods / stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently
support production
 Maintain the cooler and freezer area organized and stocked
 Make sure allergen products and non-allergen products are stocked separately and in
designated areas in the warehouse, cooler, and freezer
 Ensure incoming product is received and managed appropriately according to company
procedures
 Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required.
 Provide routine management information on inventory performance

 Move inventory to various locations manually or by mechanical equipment, including fork-lift

and pallet jack

 Sort and store items according to established procedures

 Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical count, and check against inventory

control totals

 Ensure final product is ready for shipment

 Monitor the flow of goods following the FIFO method of inventory

 Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates



EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

 Ability to pass a drug screen

 Minimum of 2 years in a food manufacturing plant

 Ability to multi-task, and cross train in a fast paced environment

 Good team working skills and the aptitude to work alone

 Must be self-motivated

 Maintain excellent attendance.

EDUCATION NEEDED

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand the entire shift; to bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work long hours in

a cold/wet environment (approximately 40º).

Because of various circumstances that arise on a daily basis the Production Lead must be able to adapt

well, and professionally, to changes quickly
