Job Description
POSITION:
Inventory Control (IC) Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the measurement and reporting of the inventory status through daily KPI reviews and reports. The IC Supervisor is responsible for managing the inventory control associates and inspiring team members to use the standard process to keep the inventory accurate. The IC Supervisor will manage inventory reports and adjustments, ensuring any material discrepancies are provided to Finance, Operations and Account Management. The IC Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring unneeded or loose products are put away in a timely manner to the proper location. The IC Supervisor will be responsible for creating a cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy and reduce annual audit requirements. The IC Supervisor will be responsible for inventory allocation and the replenishment of inventory for allocation using the appropriate systems (Korber WMS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans, executes, and reconciles physical inventories.
· Anticipates and reacts to shortages and changes in inventory.
· Audits processes and inventory to track performance.
· Uses transaction log and reporting to investigate discrepancies or lost inventories.
· Ensures inventory control and cycle count programs are in-line with inventory accuracy goals.
· Sets cycle counts of inventory to ensure most frequently picked locations are cycle counted.
· Makes certain all cancelled orders or additional product is put away in a timely manner to keep inventory accurate.
· Verifies all damaged products are taken out of the system and placed in the damaged product area.
· Generates and prioritizes replenishment based upon load appointment time to ensure all product can be picked and staged before driver arrives.
· Reviews Inventory Control associates’ timecards to ensure hours are correct for each week.
· Conducts Inventory Control associate performance reviews, individual development plans and succession plans.
· Ensures Inventory Control associates have proper training and access to the necessary tools to perform their assignments.
· Develops goals and objectives for Inventory Control associates that are quantifiable and measurable.
· Works closely with Inbound and Outbound Managers to maintain accurate inventory levels from receiving and putting away products to picking and shipping product.
· Champions and drives continuous improvement through the communication and coaching of associates to follow standard process.
· Executes capital projects and develops long term warehousing strategies that support business growth and objectives.
· Develops, measures, and drives inventory control methods that ensure inventory turns, FIFO, and inventory accuracy.
· Provides senior management reports on warehouse cycle counting program including variance reports.
· Finds ways to reduce costs and optimize control procedures.
· Proactively works close with the Operations team to identify improvements to drive efficiencies, productivity, and customer satisfaction scores.
· Identifies system limitations and makes recommendations for corrective action.
· Enter tickets for system issues for immediate resolution.
· Ad hoc projects and analysis to support the manager, director, senior and executive management.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 4 years lead-related operational experience in the areas of operations, inventory, and/or customer service is required or 1+ year of managerial experience.
· Possess a BA/BS in a related field like business administration, supply chain management, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively staff, manage, and motivate personnel.
· Must be very meticulous and have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability of succeeding in a matrix management environment.
· Must have a cheerful outlook, focus on teamwork and rapid problem resolution, and the ability to interact with all levels of management.
· Must have user’s knowledge of system software, preferably Korber, and the attitude to learn new software systems.
· Excellent forecasting and data analysis with an emphasis on tracking inventory through transaction logs and reports.
· Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 50lbs as necessary.
· Ability to frequently push/pull up to 50lbs as necessary.
· Will require to be equipment certified for job duties.
