Job Description

Seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk in San Marcos, CA! In this role, you will perform various accounting and administrative duties to support our business growth and accounting department. This is a great opportunity to expand your accounting knowledge and gain valuable experience in a dynamic work environment. Position is full time, M-F 100% onsite in office from 7:30am-4:30pm. Compensation is $22.00-25.00/hr.

Scope of Work: This role will be divided into two equal parts: 1) focused on account receivables and customer correspondence and 2) assisting the Accounting/HR Mgr. with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.


  • Process vendor invoices, transactions, and expenses
  • Update and maintain our accounting database
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with various accounting tasks
  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable duties:
    • Analyze data to resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.
    • Perform data entry for vendor and customer invoices/payments.
    • Reconcile vendor and customer accounts/ledgers.
    • Transmit customer invoices as needed. Request vendor invoices as needed
  • Compile and prepare internal paperwork for routine reports
  • Organize and maintain filing systems
  • Handle light administrative duties, including answering phones, providing customer service, managing mail, and filing
  • Send billing correspondence as necessary
  • Continually propose systems and methods of organization to improve efficiency

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • MUST have minimum 2 yrs. experience/knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel consisting of: 
    • Creating and managing workbooks
    • Enter and format data/tables, sort and filter, print and page setup
    • Creating basic charts & utilizing analysis tools such as subtotaling, data validation, conditional formatting and goal seek.
    • Work with Formula’s & Functions: SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT, IF VLOOKUP, and SUMIF
  • Tech-savviness and ability to adapt to new software systems with accurate data entry
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail, one cent or decimal will throw off everything!
  • Ability to meet deadlines w/strong customer service skills
  • Clear and effective communication of complex data
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
