Structural Steel Fitter

Plant Location – Livonia

Full-Time Positions Available – Days and Nights

8-10 Hour Shifts 5-6 Days/Week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Proficient reading of blueprints.

-Proficient layout and fit up of materials.

-Proficient identification and application of welds to AWS D1.1 requirement.

- Wear properly-fitted Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: gloves, face shields, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and welding hoods. 

-Receive work order; obtain and organize materials; insure all materials being used are accurate and in compliance with specifications and quality control program; job task and order of processes planning.

-Correctly set up welding equipment with proper gas type and flow, wire speed and amperage.

-Safely operate equipment such as cranes, fork trucks, grinders, saws, and welding machines. 

-Maintain, support and follow all Scion Steel standards as specified within the Quality Management System.

-Provide support to other employees on essential job functions when required.

-Maintain a clean and organized work space and maintain shop floor organization and cleanliness as directed by management.

-Engage in other related duties and responsibilities as directed by management.

-Follow all Company policies and procedures.

-Must demonstrate and maintain a courteous and professional attitude.

Other Requirements:

-Must have reliable transportation.

-2+ years related experience preferred.
