MECHANICAL/TECHNICAL LEAD - LAKE WALES, FL

Job Type

  • Full time
  • Night shift, 4:30pm - 4:30am
  • $32.42, hourly rate

What you'll do

  • Perform assigned work projects.
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, performing needed repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Must have the ability to operate, maintain and clean all production and support equipment in the CBU.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in all areas appropriate for this position.
  • Participation in the decision making process to get the production lines up and running is required.
  • This position has leadership responsibilities and expectations.
  • Must set example by consistently being at work on time and ready for daily activities.
  • Must be able to provide training and guidance to team member, operators and others as needed to meet the business needs.
  • Must be able to complete HACCP, ISO and Safety documents as needed.
  • Schedule, print and assign PM's to team members and verify completion as expected.
  • Review maintenance work request and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Keep records of repair activities
  • Assist with coverage during openings in the schedule.
  • Perform daily maintenance task alongside direct reports.
  • Perform PM's, rebuild pumps, gear boxes and other equipment as needed to ensure repairs are completed on time.
  • A working knowledge of conveyor systems, inline fillers, valves, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, servo's, photo eyes and limit switches is required.
  • Responsibilities also include participation in future training sessions to support new and existing equipment or technology.
  • Must interact cordially with customers and co-workers with customers and co-workers.
  • Support compliance with Safety and GMP programs.
  • Practice "Walk the Talk" principles by holding yourself and others accountable by following FNG's Core Values and leadership expectations.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.
  • Due to the significant amount of steps/stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps/stairs in a safe manner.

What we're looking for

  • H.S. diploma or GED, and one of the following:
  • Formal mechanical/electrical/technical training with five(5)plus years on the job experience. or
  • Eight(8) years of industrial mechanical/electrical/technical job experience with no formal training.
  • In addition, all applicants must achieve minimum test scores for each of the following: 70%FNG's Mechanical Skills Test(Form A1C) and 50% On FNG's Electrical Skills Test(Form A2).
  • Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in the English language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and group settings to customers, management and other employees of the organization is required.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and follow written materials including operator manuals, safety procedures, SOP's and SSOP's.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Two or more years of industrial maintenance leadership experience preferred.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions satisfactorily.
  • The ability to obtain a license and operate a forklift is required.
  • HACCP/ISO experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform precision cutting and welding to meet food plant sanitary standards is preferred.
  • This includes the use of stick welders and Heliarc welding equipment (MIG and TIG) on both stainless and aluminum applications.
  • Skills and experience must include ability to troubleshoot photo-eyes, limits switches and other PLC controlled equipment based on diagnostics, electrical drawings and circuit testing.
  • Preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting and replacement of electrical and control systems for industrial processing and packaging equipment to also include: motors, starters/VFDs with related controls.
  • This position requires regular standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, occasional climbing, bending, stooping, balancing, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
  • One must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • This position requires common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
  • Must be able to master basic computer skills such as opening, reading, creating and sending email and attachments, creating spreadsheets and documents using Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking and planning purposes.
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation, a winning attitude, teamwork and Core Values.
  • Must be able to work on several projects at the same time, prioritizing work for self and others.
  • Must understand the operation and repair of industrial mechanical equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
