Job Summary

Responsible for assembling electrical equipment. Reads and interprets instructions, assembles

parts and tools, and fits electronic components together.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assemble materials.

• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or

reports

• Review work activities with supervisor.

• Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits.

• Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components,

units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using fasteners, bolts, and soldering.

• Pack finished products for shipment.

• Tag components.

• Adjust or repair electrical equipment.

• Test product to ensure conformance to specifications.

• Build products such as electric motors, computers, electronic control devices, and

sensing equipment.

• Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint

specifications, using instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

Qualifications

• Wire and harness assembly experience

• High level with assembly hand tools and light power tools

• Assumes responsibility for own work

• Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information

• Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and

supervisors

• Understands when to request guidance from superiors and proper chain of command

• Ability to lift 50 pounds safely

• High proficiency with all basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque tools,

crimpers and soldering irons

• Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes

• Ability to read and follow electro-mechanical assembly drawings, procedures and

schematics

• High proficiency with computer and MS Office (especially Excel)
