Job Title: CNC Operator
Department: Production 
Reports To: Angel Cartagena
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machining centers and supporting production activities to meet customer requirements. This role involves machine setup, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining centers within the Fabrication Shop.

• Perform setups for CNC operations as needed.

• Notify the supervisor regarding the need for new tooling for new programs.

• Conduct basic maintenance and ensure proper care of tooling and equipment.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

• Operate other production equipment as required.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Previous experience with CNC programming software is required.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure documents.

• Must be able to read blueprints.

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.

• Capable of using units of measurement for weight, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

• Problem-solving skills to handle routine issues with standardized solutions.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle materials, and reach with arms.

• Frequently required to talk and hear.

• Occasionally required to walk.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

• Visual requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.

• Frequent exposure to vibrations.

• Work environment is typically loud.
