Warehouse Receiving Clerk
Job Summary
The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in maintaining organized warehouse operations and supporting timely distribution of goods.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage

Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

Accurately enter received goods into inventory management or ERP systems

Label, tag, and properly store materials in designated warehouse locations

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely

Coordinate with purchasing, shipping, and inventory teams regarding discrepancies

Report damaged or missing items to supervisors and vendors as needed
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area

Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits

Follow company safety procedures and warehouse protocols
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

1–2 years of warehouse receiving or inventory experience preferred

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)

Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software systems

Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Strong communication and teamwork skills
