*Job Title: Production Control/Inventory Specialist ** **Location:** Savannah, GA ** $21.00-$23.00/hr. As we continue to grow, we seek an experienced Inventory Specialist to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities: Monitor inventory levels regularly to ensure that there are sufficient materials for production without overstocking.
Balance inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring that there’s enough stock to meet production demand.
Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records of materials on hand.
Set reorder points for materials based on production schedules and historical usage trends to prevent stockouts and production delays. Ensure that materials are stored properly to maintain their quality and accessibility. This could involve organizing materials in warehouses or designated storage areas according to their type, usage, or shelf life. Ensure that materials are stored in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or damage.
Space Optimization: Utilize available storage space efficiently to ensure easy access to materials while maximizing storage capacity. Inspect materials upon receipt to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards. Work with quality control teams to return defective materials to suppliers and track them for replacement or credit. Maintain records of material inspections, certifications, and quality checks to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure that the required materials are available when needed. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and avoid production delays due to late or incorrect deliveries. Manage lead times by considering the production schedule, vendor capabilities, and transportation logistics to ensure that material orders are placed with enough time to avoid shortages.
 

Material Handling and Distribution:
Transport Management: Coordinate the transportation of materials from suppliers to the company’s facilities or from storage to the production line.
Handling Procedures: Ensure that materials are handled correctly to avoid damage and ensure they’re available when needed by production teams.
Tracking Materials: Use inventory management software or systems to track the movement of materials within the facility, ensuring that the right quantities are available at the right locations. Maintain accurate records for all materials, including purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and quality checks. Ensure that all documentation complies with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Provide regular reports on material usage, inventory levels, procurement activities, and cost savings to management. 
Apply lean manufacturing principles to minimize material waste, reduce costs, and improve inventory turnover.
