Job Overview:
We’re seeking a dedicated Sinter Operator to join our Magnet Prep Department. This position is critical to the heat treatment and sintering of pressed parts, as well as conducting in-process inspections. Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures
Handle materials at high temperatures (up to 1200°C) and work with gases (hydrogen, nitrogen, argon)
Read and follow work instructions and process control standards
Machine Setup & Operation
Set up sinter boats and foil packs
Load parts into horizontal, vertical, and tube furnaces using correct programs
Operate nitrogen lines, vacuum storage tubes, and other related equipment
Preventive Maintenance & Housekeeping
Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
Perform basic preventative maintenance and track inventory of supplies
Quality & Documentation
Conduct in-process inspections and verify product quality
Accurately record data in ERP systems, routers, logs, and control charts
Follow proper job separation procedures and maintain organized workflows
Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
Communicate with supervisors for escalation and improvement suggestions
Participate in process control updates and provide feedback on work instructions
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or thermal processing role preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Technical Skills: Ability to operate industrial furnaces and inspection tools
Physical Stamina: Able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive movements
Attention to Detail: Required for part handling, documentation, and inspection
Safety Awareness: Must follow safety procedures when handling high-temp and hazardous materials
