Job Title: Racker
Job Summary:
A Racker is responsible for preparing, hanging (racking), and removing (unracking) parts for processing, such as plating, anodizing, painting, or coating. This position ensures parts are securely placed on racks, handled carefully to prevent damage, and prepared according to quality and production standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Rack and unrack parts according to work orders and production requirements.
- Secure parts using hooks, wires, or fixtures to ensure proper processing.
- Inspect parts for damage or defects before and after processing.
- Handle materials carefully to prevent scratches or contamination.
- Load and unload racks from production lines or processing equipment.
- Package finished products for inspection, shipping, or the next production stage.
- Follow quality standards and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Perform other production and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read work instructions and follow detailed procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
- Frequently lift up to 30–50 lbs. (or more depending on the facility).
- Repetitive use of hands and arms for racking and unracking parts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment around chemicals, heat, and noise when applicable.
- Ability to bend, reach, and twist throughout the shift.
