Job Summary:
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the spice production facility to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This includes cleaning equipment, production areas, floors, and other designated spaces using proper chemicals, tools, and methods.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of spice processing equipment, floors, walls, and facility surfaces.

Disassemble and reassemble machinery and tools for deep cleaning according to safety procedures.

Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with company and OSHA standards.

Follow Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and document completed tasks accurately.

Ensure all cleaning tasks meet FDA, USDA, GMP, and company sanitation standards.

Perform environmental swabbing and sanitation verification tasks as required.

Report any equipment malfunctions or sanitation concerns to supervisors.

Maintain proper storage and labeling of sanitation supplies and chemicals.

Wear proper PPE and follow all safety and hygiene protocols.

Assist in pest control and allergen control programs as needed.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in spices, seasonings, or dry foods.

Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and follow strict safety protocols.

Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions in English.

Physically able to lift 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.

Detail-oriented and dependable.
Working Conditions:

Exposure to dust, strong aromas (spices), and cleaning chemicals.

Wet and dry environments, both hot and cold areas.

Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if needed.
